브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 현대자동차가 2026년 1학기 ‘미래모빌리티학교’ 참가 학교를 모집하고 미래 모빌리티 산업 인재 육성에 나선다.
‘미래모빌리티학교’는 현대차가 민간기업 최초로 교육부와 업무협약을 체결하고 개발한 학생 주도 활동형 프로그램이다. 학생들이 모빌리티 산업 발전 과정을 비롯한 자율주행, 로보틱스 등 혁신적 기술을 학습하며 미래 모빌리티를 선도하는 인재로 성장할 수 있도록 돕고자 마련됐다.
2016년부터 시작해 지금까지 국내 초·중학교 및 해외 학교를 포함한 전 세계 2890개 학교에서 운영됐으며, 약 11만8000명의 학생과 만나 미래 모빌리티의 꿈을 함께 키워왔다.
미래모빌리티학교는 이론 전달 위주의 수업 방식에서 벗어나 자율주행 모빌리티 키트, 모빌리티 직업 탐색 보드게임 등 관련 교구재를 제공해 수업 별로 다양한 형태의 활동을 진행한다.
수업은 중학생 대상 정규 및 단기 프로그램과 초등학교 4~6학년 대상의 초등 프로그램으로 구성돼 있고, 커리큘럼에 따라 친환경 에너지, 스마트 모빌리티, 소프트웨어 중심 차량(SDV) 등 다양한 주제를 통해 미래 모빌리티 환경 변화를 미리 엿볼 수 있는 수업을 제공한다.
2026년 1학기 중등 정규 프로그램은 ‘모빌리티와 함께하는 미래 라이프 스타일’을 주제로 진행되며, 중등 단기 프로그램은 ‘스마트 모빌리티 중심으로의 진화’, 초등 프로그램은 ‘미래 모빌리티가 만드는 지속가능한 미래 라이프’를 주제로 진행된다.
특히, 2025년 2학기부터 신규 도입된 초등용 ‘넥쏘 자율주행 모빌리티 키트’를 통해 자율주행 속 센서 원리를 이해하고 실제 주행 중에 발생하는 장애물 감지 오류 및 제어 문제를 해결하는 등 공학적 사고력 향상을 돕는다.
현대차는 본 프로그램을 위해 모빌리티 산업에 관한 이해를 돕는 교재와 교구재를 주기적으로 개발 및 제작해 참가 학교에 제공하고 학교는 자유학기제, 창의적 체험활동, 범교과 학습 등에서 해당 자료들을 활용할 수 있다. 참가 교사에게는 온라인 연수를 제공해 수업을 진행하는 데 무리가 없도록 지원한다.
