【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=음성군은 19일 군청 대회의실에서 ‘대한성공회 음성성당 복원 학술대회’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이번 학술대회는 ‘대한성공회 음성성당 정밀실측조사’의 일환으로 음성읍에 위치한 충청북도 등록문화유산인 대한성공회 음성성당의 변형된 출입시설에 대한 복원 방안을 논의하기 위해 마련됐으며, 정밀실측조사를 실시하고 있는 ㈜건축사사무소 한녹에서 주관했다.
이날 성공회 종교사부터 음성성당의 문화유산 등록 과정과 특징 등에 대한 여러 발표와 토론 과정을 통해 대한성공회 음성성당의 복원 방안에 대한 다양한 논의가 이뤄졌다.
첫 발표는 ‘대한성공회 음성성당의 훼철 위기와 등록문화유산 등록’에 대해 최범식 음성군 학예연구사가, 두 번째 발표는 ‘성공회 종교사’에 대해 전재식 대한성공회 신부가 맡았다.
이어 세 번째 발표는 최무용 볕터건축사사무소 공간정보연구소 소장이 2024년 수립된 ‘음성성당 종합정비계획’에 대해, 네 번째 발표는 도선붕 ㈜유라시아경계너머 대표가 ‘음성성당의 연혁과 건축학적 특징’에 대해 발표했다.
마지막으로 정밀실측조사를 진행하고 있는 구만열 ㈜건축사사무소 한녹 대표가 음성성당의 정밀실측과 복원 방향에 관해 다뤘다.
이번 학술대회를 통해 논의된 내용은 복원 기초자료로 성당 보수정비 사업에 활용된다.
한편 대한성공회 음성성당은 기존 건축의 개량형으로 독특한 한옥 성당의 토착화 단계의 형식을 보여줘 근대 건축물로는 찾기 힘든 사례이다.
서양건축의 수용과 전통 건축의 근대적 변화를 조명할 수 있는 건축사적 의의를 지닌 문화유산으로, 그 가치가 높게 평가돼 2023년 6월 충청북도 등록문화유산으로 등재됐다. 2024년 종합정비계획을 수립하고 2025년 정밀실측조사를 진행 중이며, 2026년 보수정비 사업을 추진해 나갈 예정이다.
