【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 진천종박물관이 6개월간의 전면 개편공사를 마치고 12월 하순 재개관을 목표로 관람객을 맞을 준비를 하고 있다.
진천종박물관은 2005년 개관 후 20년간 지역민의 문화 소통 공간이자 국내 유일의 종 전문박물관으로서 전시와 교육 활동을 이어왔다.
종박물관은 관람객이 직접 참여하고 체험할 수 있는 박물관으로 탈바꿈하기 위해 이번 리모델링에 총 30억원(도비 17억 5천, 군비 12억 5천)의 예산을 투입했다.
이를 통해 노후화된 전시시설을 정비하고, 최신 디지털 기술을 접목한 미디어아트 등을 도입했다.
또한 종의 역사적, 예술적 가치뿐만 아니라 전통과 현대, 지역과 세계를 잇는 종 문화의 의미를 새롭게 조명하기 위해 새로운 상설전시실 조성뿐 아니라, 학습과 교육 기능을 강화한 체험형 교육존, 소규모 기획전시 공간을 마련한다.
세부적으로 살펴보면 기존 2실이었던 상설전시실을 3실로 확장하고 한국 종의 역사와 예술, 과학기술을 다양한 매체로써 입체적으로 이해할 수 있도록 했다.
또 실감 영상실, 어린이체험실, 아카이브실, 다목적 문화공간을 신설해 박물관의 소통 역량을 강화했으며 수장고 보존환경을 개선, 전시형 수장고를 조성해 소장품 관리의 안정성과 투명성을 높였다.
문화취약계층의 문화 접근성 향상을 위한 옥외 장애인용 승강기도 새롭게 설치했다.
