【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=음성군은 지난달 발생한 대소면 화학물질 유출 사고로 인해 농작물 피해를 입은 농가의 생활 안정을 위해 2차 지원금을 지급했다고 25일 밝혔다.
군은 이날 추가 피해 신고를 접수한 79농가를 대상으로, 총 2400만원의 재난지원금을 지급했다.
앞서 11일에는 화학물질 사고 발생 후 지난 6일까지 군에 피해 신고를 완료한 총 221가구에 1차 지원금으로 총 6710만원을 지급한 바 있다.
이로써 군이 이번 사고와 관련해 선제 지급한 지원금은 총 300가구, 9110만원에 이른다.
이번 지원은 화학사고조사단(단장 원주지방환경청장)의 최종 피해 조사가 완료되기 전, 긴급 자금 지원을 통해 농가의 당면한 어려움을 조금이나마 해소하는 데 도움을 제공하기 위한 긴급 조치이다.
군은 재난 및 안전관리 기본법과 음성군 재난관리기금 운용 관리 조례에 따라 재난관리기금 재원을 활용해 지원금을 마련했으며, 이번 재난지원금은 사고 업체 손해사정사가 현재 산정 중인 피해보상 보험금과는 성격이 다른 별개의 지원금이다.
1·2차 지급 금액은 4인 이하 가구(총 289가구)에는 가구당 30만원, 5인 이상 가구(총 11가구)에는 가구당 40만원이다.
조병옥 군수는 “갑작스러운 사고로 피해를 입은 군민 여러분께 이번 지원금이 조금이나마 위로가 되길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 피해를 입은 주민의 조속한 일상 회복을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
한편 군은 지난 11일, 18일 두 차례에 걸쳐 최근 발생한 화학 사고로 피해를 입은 미곡리 등 6개 마을을 찾아 주민과의 간담회를 열어 사고 수습 및 피해조사 과정에 대해 소상히 설명하고 질문에 답변하는 등 주민 소통에 힘쓰고 있다.
현재 원주지방환경청 주관으로 피해 조사가 진행 중이며, 화학사고 조사단(단장 원주지방환경청장)에서는 주민 건강영향조사도 실시한다.
이번 조사는 화학사고 인근 피해 주민 및 기업체 직원을 대상으로 실시되며, 설문조사, 건강검진 및 외상 후 스트레스 장애 등 정신건강 실태를 파악하고, 건강 피해 주민에 대한 후속 조치 방안도 마련할 방침이다.
