파주소방서가 전기화재 예방을 위해 한전MCS(주)와 손잡고 체계적인 안전망 구축에 나섰다.
파주소방서는 3일 오전 10시 30분 청사 2층 소회의실에서 한전MCS(주)와 '화재안전강화 업무협약'을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

이번 협약은 전기화재의 심각성이 대두되면서 추진됐다.
최근 5년간(2020~2024년) 파주지역에서 전기적 요인으로 발생한 화재가 482건에 달해 전체 화재의 34.2%를 차지한 것으로 나타났다.
올해 발생한 부산 아파트 화재 사례처럼 노후 전기설비로 인한 대형 화재 위험성이 커지면서, 전기 전문기관과의 협력 필요성이 절실해진 상황이다.
한국전력공사의 자회사인 한전MCS(주)는 전국에서 검침업무와 함께 무료 전기안전점검 서비스를 제공하며, 취약계층의 에너지 효율 개선과 안전 강화를 위한 다양한 활동을 펼치고 있다.
양 기관은 협약을 통해 △연 2회 이상 취약계층 대상 화재안전조사 및 전기안전점검 △주택용 소방시설 미설치 가구와 노후 전기설비 보유 가구 정보 공유 △화재위험요인 사전 제거 활동을 공동으로 추진하기로 했다.
특히 검침원을 대상으로 소방안전 및 응급처치 교육을 실시해 초기대응 능력을 강화하고, 계절별 화재안전대책 수립 시에도 전기안전 분야에서 협업을 이어가기로 했다.
향후에는 비닐하우스, 컨테이너하우스 등 전기화재에 취약한 시설을 우선 대상으로 합동점검을 진행하고, 점검 결과 발견된 불량 설비에 대한 해결방안을 함께 마련할 계획이다.
또한 연 1회 이상 간담회를 열어 협력사항을 지속적으로 점검하고 보완해 나갈 방침이다.
