【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=(재)진천군장학회(이사장 송기섭)는 지난해 군민과 단체의 꾸준한 관심 속에 124억원의 장학기금을 달성하며, 지역 인재 육성의 든든한 재정적 토대를 마련했다고 9일 밝혔다.
군 장학회에 따르면 지난해 개인 42명과 단체 80곳으로부터 총 122건, 2억 9천 300만원의 장학금을 기부받았다.
(재)진천군장학회는 NH농협은행 진천군지부의 협력사업비와 기탁금의 이자수익을 재원으로 삼아 안정적인 장학사업을 추진하고 있으며, 지난해에 이어 올해도 총 4억원 이상의 장학금을 지급했다.
군 장학회는 지역의 우수 학생들에게 실질적 지원을 제공하고 미래인재 양성의 선도적인 역할로 자리매김하고 있다.
연도별(5개년) 장학금 지원액은 △2021년 3억 6천202만 6천원(1천 111명) △2022년 3억 6천352만 2천원(1천 105명) △2023년 4억 6천 360만원(1천 218명) △2024년 4억 3천682만 8천원(1천 266명)이다.
지난해에는 총 15개 분야 1천 396명의 장학생을 선발해 총 4억 1천여만 원의 장학금을 지급했다.
상반기에는 5개 분야(△前 명문대 특별장학생 △우수 교원 인센티브 △다자녀 장학금 △관내 대학 특별장학금 △문해교육 학력 인정자)에서 선발된 226명에게 1억 2천 800만원의 장학금을 지원했다.
하반기에는 8개 분야(△희망사다리장학금 △특기 장학금 △다문화·북한이탈주민 자녀 △학력 신장 인센티브 △청소년 꿈 드림 장학금 △우수 학생 인센티브 △성적우수 장학금 △고3 응원 장학금)의 장학생을 선발하고, 장학사업(△온라인 강의 지원사업 △워킹홀리데이 지원사업)을 포함해 1천 170명에게 2억 9천여만 원의 장학금을 지원했다.
