【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 증평군이 행정안전부가 지난 13일 공표한 ‘2025년 지역안전지수’에서 도내 1위를 차지하며, 충북에서 가장 안전한 군(郡)으로 다시 한번 입증됐다.
지역안전지수는 행정안전부가 매년 교통사고, 화재, 범죄, 생활안전, 자살, 감염병 등 6개 분야를 종합 평가해 자치단체의 안전수준을 1~5등급으로 산정하는 국가 공인 지표다.
1등급에 가까울수록 동일 행정구역 내에서 상대적으로 안전하다는 의미를 갖는다.
이번 평가에서 증평군은 화재·생활안전·감염병 분야에서 1등급, 교통사고 분야에서 2등급을 받으며 전반적으로 매우 높은 안전수준을 기록했다.
특히 화재 분야는 6년 연속 1등급을 유지해, 현장 대응력과 예방 체계가 전국 최고 수준임을 다시 한번 확인했다.
이번 성과로 증평군은 도내 군 단위 자치단체 가운데 가장 높은 종합 안전수준과 안정적인 안전 기반을 갖춘 지역임을 공식적으로 인정받게 됐다.
