Portugal’s capital, Lisbon, is widely regarded as one of the most popular destinations among Korean travelers. According to travel surveys and reviews, the city is favored for several key reasons:

  • Beautiful scenery and unique atmosphere — Hills, historic trams, and the Tagus River create a visually striking cityscape.
  • Reasonable travel costs — Compared to many major Western European cities, Lisbon offers a more affordable travel experience.
  • Exceptional cuisine — From the famous Pastel de Nata to fresh seafood and Port wine, Lisbon’s food culture is highly praised.
  • Rich history and culture — Iconic UNESCO World Heritage sites such as Belém Tower and Jerónimos Monastery reflect the city’s long and storied past.
  • Mild climate — Generally clear skies and comfortable temperatures enhance the travel experience.

For these reasons, Lisbon is frequently described as a “bucket-list destination” among Korean travelers, with many choosing to visit and explore the city firsthand.

Prayer Lisbon stars Ingrïd Pedroza and Joana Lisboa, both local actors from Lisbon and Braga. The film follows Alex, a young Brazilian immigrant living between two selves — a woman of silent prayer and a soul lost in the night. When she forms a bond with Luisa, a young Portuguese woman, Lisbon becomes a mirror of confession, prayer, and fragile hope.

Produced by YMK Films, Prayer Lisbon is part of the expanding Prayer International Series, a global collection of short films set in cities around the world, each centered on prayer as a moment of inner transformation. With this release, director Young Man Kang has now completed 33 episodes in the series.

Most recently, Kang also released Prayer El Camino – Part 4: Final Chapter, continuing the series’ exploration of faith, inner struggle, and spiritual awakening along the historic Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route. Additional episodes documenting journeys across Bilbao, El Camino, Santiago, Porto, Lisbon, and Madrid are currently in progress.

As the series continues to grow, the Prayer International Series actively seeks local producers, actors, creative partners, sponsors, and branded-content collaborators who share a passion for meaningful storytelling and cross-cultural connection. Each episode is developed in close collaboration with local communities, blending authentic locations, regional voices, and universal themes of hope and spiritual reflection. Through these partnerships, the series aims to build an international network of creators and supporters united by faith, cinema, and global storytelling.
