충남 논산시의회가 20일 제269회 임시회를 긴급히 소집하고, 국방산업 발전을 위한 특별위원회를 공식 출범시켰다.
이날 제1차 본회의에서는 임시회 회기 결정의 건 ,국방산업발전특별위원회 구성의 건 ,특별위원회 위원 선임의 건이 차례로 상정·의결됐다. 이어 열린 국방산업발전특별위원회 제1차 회의에서는 서승필 의원이 위원장으로, 김종욱 의원이 부위원장으로 각각 선출됐다.
속개된 본회의에서는 ‘국방특위 활동계획서’가 승인됐다. 계획서에는 위원회 구성과 활동 방향, 추진 일정, 자료 수집 방안, 기대효과 등이 구체적으로 담겨 있다.
국방특위는 서승필 위원장을 포함해 총 6명(김종욱·민병춘·서원·조배식·윤금숙 의원)으로 구성되며, 오는 5월 30일까지 약 4개월 동안 국방산업 관련 현황 분석, 집행부 의견 청취, 정책 추진체계 점검, 현장 조사 및 타 지역 사례 연구 등을 진행할 예정이다. 이를 통해 논산시의 지역 산업 기반과 연계한 국방산업 발전 방안을 모색할 계획이다.
