【브레이크뉴스 경북】진예솔 기자=경북교육청이 2026학년도 중등 특기·적성 방과후학교 활성화를 위해 운영비 20억 원을 지원한다. 학급당 최대 50만 원까지 지급하며, 취약계층 학생들에게는 우선 참여 기회를 제공한다.
지원 대상은 도내 공·사립 중·고등학교 가운데 희망 학교다. 예체능, 첨단·컴퓨터, 독서·논술, 취미·교양, 융합형 과정 등 다양한 프로그램 운영에 쓸 수 있다.
구체적으로 음악·미술·체육 등 예체능 활동, 코딩과 인공지능 기초, 드론·로봇 교육, 독서 토론과 글쓰기, 사진·영상 제작, 금융·경제 교육, STEAM 기반 창작 프로젝트, 진로·창업 체험 등 학교 상황과 특성에 맞게 선택 가능하다.
프로그램 운영은 학생과 학부모의 수요를 반영해 진행된다. 국민기초생활수급자, 한부모 가정, 차상위와 저소득층 학생들에게는 우선적으로 참여 기회를 보장한다. 프로그램 선정과 강사 구성 등은 교육청 가이드라인 내에서 학교가 자율적으로 결정한다.
학교는 교육지원청과 경북교육청 공고를 참고해 신청서를 제출하면 된다. 지원금은 학급 단위로 지급된다. 교육청은 참여율과 만족도 조사, 운영 보고 등을 통해 사업 성과를 점검하고 우수사례도 확산할 예정이다.
임종식 경북교육감은 “특기·적성 방과후학교는 학생들이 자신의 재능을 발견하고 성장하는 데 중요한 기회”라며 “학생들이 행복하게 배우고 꿈을 키울 수 있도록 질 높은 방과후학교 프로그램 운영을 꾸준히 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

The Gyeongbuk Office of Education will provide KRW 2 billion in operating funds to revitalize after-school programs for middle school students specializing in special talents and aptitudes for the 2026 school year. The Office of Education plans to monitor program performance through participation and satisfaction surveys, operational reports, and other measures, as well as disseminate best practices.
Gyeongbuk Superintendent of Education Lim Jong-sik stated, "Special and aptitude-based after-school programs are a crucial opportunity for students to discover and develop their talents. We will continue to support high-quality after-school programs so that students can learn happily and pursue their dreams."
