대전시의회가 23일 제292회 임시회 제1차 본회의를 개최하고, 내달 2일까지 11일간의 의사일정에 들어갔다.
이번 임시회에서는 2026년도 새해 첫 의원 발의 19건, 시장 제출 49건, 교육감 제출 5건 등 총 73건의 안건을 처리할 예정이다. 특히, 이번 회기 중 대전시와 교육청의 ‘2026년도 업무보고’ 청취를 통해 시민 삶의 질 향상 및 미래 교육 발전을 위한 정책 방안을 모색한다.
이날 제1차 본회의에서는 주요 건의안들이 의결됐다.
의결 안건은 이한영 의원의 '청년 주거공간 확대를 위한 영구임대주택의 입주자격 완화 촉구 건의안' ,이중호 의원의 '학생 학습권 보장을 위한 학교급식의 필수공익사업 지정 촉구 건의안' ,황경아 의원의 '장애인 활동지원기관의 전담관리인력 자격 기준 조정 촉구 건의안' ,송활섭 의원의 '(가칭)대덕세무서 신설 촉구 건의안' 등이다.
이들 건의안은 청년 주거 안정성 제고, 학생 학습권 보장, 장애인 활동지원 서비스 질 향상, 지역 맞춤형 행정·세무 서비스 강화 등 시민 삶의 질 전반에 걸친 개선 요구를 담고 있다.
이어진 5분 자유발언에서는 정명국 의원이 '대전충남행정통합, 분권 없는 통합은 답이 될 수 없다' ,민경배 의원이 '유등천 우안도로 단절구간 연결 촉구'에 대해 각각 발언하며 정책적 제언을 내놓았다.
조원휘 의장은 “2026년은 그간의 의정 성과를 시민의 삶으로 완성해야 할 중요한 해”라고 강조했다. 이어 “'민의중행(民意從行)'의 자세로 시민의 뜻을 최우선에 두고 의회 본연의 역할인 견제와 점검에 충실하며, 73건의 안건 심의와 시정·교육행정 업무보고 청취를 통해 정책이 시민이 체감하는 성과로 이어지도록 점검하겠다”고 밝혔다.
또한, 대전·충남 행정통합 논의에 대해서도 “시민의 신뢰를 기반으로 합리적인 논의와 제도적 뒷받침을 통해 의회 차원에서 책임 있게 역할을 다할 것”이라고 덧붙였다.

Daejeon City Council Convenes 292nd Extraordinary Session, Begins 11-Day Legislative Session
