충남 청양군이 도시가스가 공급되지 않는 농촌 지역의 에너지 격차를 해소하고 주민들의 연료비 부담을 경감하기 위한 '마을단위 LPG 소형저장탱크 보급사업'에 속도를 내고 있다.
이를 위해 청양군은 2026년 사업 대상지로 선정된 청남면 중산리 마을을 시작으로 본격적인 사업 추진에 나섰다고 23일 밝혔다.
청양군은 지난 22일 청남면 중산리 마을회관에서 지역 주민 30여 명이 참석한 가운데 사업 설명회를 개최하고 추진 계획을 공유했다.
이 사업은 마을 중심부에 LPG 소형저장탱크를 설치하고 각 가정까지 가스 배관을 연결하여, 기존 개별 용기 배달 방식 대비 최대 40% 이상 저렴하고 안전하게 가스를 공급하는 것을 핵심으로 한다. 이를 통해 주민들은 도시가스 수준의 편리성을 누릴 수 있게 된다.
