【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 중구가 지역 근대사와 독립운동 정신을 알리기 위한 역사 교육 프로그램을 연중 운영한다.
중구청은 26일 “우현 하늘마당에서 ‘우현 하늘마당에서 만나는 역사 아카데미’를 연중 개최한다”고 밝혔다.
이번 아카데미는 대구 근대사와 지역 독립운동의 의미를 시민과 관광객들에게 쉽게 전달하고자 마련됐다. 강의에는 국채보상운동기념사업회 소속 전문 강사가 참여해, 대구에서 활동한 근대 인물과 국채보상운동, 지역 독립운동의 역사적 맥락을 중심으로 강의를 진행한다.
교육은 학교, 기관, 단체를 위한 맞춤형 프로그램과 일반 시민 및 관광객을 위한 역사 해설 프로그램으로 구성된다. 단체 방문의 경우에는 일정 조율을 통해 교육과 관람이 연계된 프로그램에도 참여할 수 있다.
아카데미가 열리는 우현 하늘마당은 소남 이일우 고택을 리모델링해 조성한 복합문화공간으로, 전시관과 교육관, 쉼터, 관광안내 기능 등을 갖추고 있다. ‘근대로의 여행’ 골목투어 1-B코스의 종점에 위치해 근대 역사 교육과 관광을 연계하는 거점 공간으로 활용 중이다.
류규하 중구청장은 “우현 하늘마당은 중구의 근대사와 독립운동 정신을 시민과 관광객이 함께 배우고 체험할 수 있는 뜻 깊은 공간”이라며 “역사 아카데미 운영을 통해 지역 정체성을 널리 알리고, 교육과 관광이 결합된 콘텐츠도 더욱 내실 있게 운영해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 중구는 이번 프로그램을 통해 주민과 방문객의 역사 인식을 높이는 한편, 골목투어와 연계한 체류형 관광 활성화 효과도 기대하고 있다.

Jung-gu District Mayor Ryu Gyu-ha stated, "Woohyeon Sky Yard is a meaningful space where citizens and tourists can learn and experience Jung-gu's modern history and the spirit of the independence movement together." He added, "Through the History Academy, we will promote local identity and further enhance the content that combines education and tourism."
Meanwhile, Jung-gu expects this program to not only raise historical awareness among residents and visitors, but also stimulate residential tourism linked to the alley tour.
