고양특례시가 도심 속 고가도로 하부와 유수지 등 방치됐던 유휴 공간을 시민들을 위한 생활체육시설로 탈바꿈시키며 ‘스포츠 복지’ 강화에 박차를 가하고 있다.

이미 지난해 3월 덕양구 내곡동과 대장동 일원 고가 하부에는 그라운드 골프장, 족구장, 풋살장 등이 들어섰다.

고가도로가 지붕 역할을 하는 특성 덕분에 시민들은 기후와 계절에 상관없이 언제든 운동을 즐길 수 있게 됐다.
또한, 삼송동과 대화동 킨텍스 유수지에는 각각 5면의 테니스코트가 조성되어 생활체육 거점으로 활용되고 있다.

올해 상반기에는 추가로 2개소가 착공된다.
