【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 진천군농업기술센터는 3일 군 농업기술센터에서 진천군 중소형 수박 산업의 지속적인 상생 발전과 활성화를 위한 ‘중소형수박 기술보급 블렌딩 협의체’ 출범식을 개최했다.
이번 협의체는 민·관의 긴밀한 협력을 바탕으로 중소형 수박 재배 기술을 고도화하고, 최고 품질의 중소형 수박 생산을 통해 농가 소득 증대를 도모하는 것을 목표로 구성됐다.
특히 1인 가구 증가 등 변화하는 수박 소비시장에 대응해 중소형 수박의 경쟁력 강화를 중점 추진할 계획이다.
출범식에서는 협의체 위원에 대한 위촉장 수여에 이어, 각 참여 기관과 단체가 하나의 목표를 향해 협력해 나간다는 의미를 담은 ‘퍼즐 퍼포먼스’를 진행하며 협력과 화합의 의지를 다졌다.
남기순 군 농업기술센터 소장은 “중소형수박 기술보급 블렌딩 협의체 출범이 중소형 수박 재배 현장에 실질적인 도움을 제공하는 중요한 출발점이 되길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 농업인과 전문가 간 활발한 소통을 지원하고, 신기술 확산을 통해 진천군 중소형 수박이 전국 최고의 브랜드로 자리매김할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 군 농업기술센터는 농촌진흥청이 주관한 ‘2025년 기술보급 블렌딩 협력모델 시범 공모사업’에 최종 선정돼, 올해부터 2년간 총 10억 원(국비 5억 원, 군비 5억 원)을 투입한다.
이를 통해 중소형 수박 재배와 관련한 지역 현안 문제를 해결하고, 지역 대표 특화작목으로의 입지 강화에 나설 예정이다.
