충남도의회는 2월 5일 당진시 송악읍 행정복지센터 대강당에서 ‘당진지역 핵심 SOC·산업 인프라 현안’을 주제로 의정토론회를 개최했다.
이번 토론회는 충남도의회 건설소방위원회 이해선 의원 주관으로 진행됐으며, 도와 당진시 관계 공무원, 전문가, 지역 주민 등 200여 명이 함께했다.
토론회에서는 당진~천안 고속도로, 석문국가산업단지 인입철도, 지방도 609·619호 확·포장 사업, 송산지구 경제자유구역 지정, 항만진입도로 및 당진항 개발 사업 등 당진 지역의 핵심 사회간접자본 사업 추진 현황과 문제점, 대응 방안이 집중적으로 다뤄졌다.
이해선 의원은 당진이 산업, 물류, 에너지의 중심지임에도 불구하고 이를 뒷받침하는 인프라 발전 속도가 더디다고 진단하며, 개별 사업 단위별 접근에서 벗어나 지역 성장 전략과 긴밀히 결합된 종합 추진체계가 필요하다고 강조했다.
그는 “고속도로, 철도, 항만, 경제자유구역이 유기적으로 연결될 때 당진의 산업경쟁력은 물론, 주민 삶의 질 역시 크게 향상될 것”이라고 밝혔다.
충남도 관계자들도 각 사업의 중요성을 확인하고 실현 가능성 확보에 최선을 다하겠다고 발표했다. 김성환 도로철도항공과장은 고속도로와 인입철도 사업의 국책사업 연계성을 강조하며, 여건 변화에 대응한 단계적 추진을 약속했다.
이성남 개발전략과장은 송산 경제자유구역을 미래 산업 중심지로 육성하기 위해 2026년 지정 목표로 관계부처 협의 및 영향평가 절차에 만전을 기하겠다고 설명했다. 윤병상 항만계획팀장은 친환경 항만 구축과 기능 다각화를 통해 당진항 경쟁력을 강화하겠다는 계획을 밝혔다.
이해선 의원은 마무리 발언에서 “더 이상 현안들이 계획에 머물러선 안 된다”며, “도의회 차원에서 국비 확보와 정책 결정까지 꾸준히 점검하고 실천해 성과를 반드시 만들어내겠다”고 의지를 다졌다.
그는 “SOC는 지역의 미래를 좌우하는 중요한 기반”이라며 시민과 함께 실행력을 높여 당진의 발전을 가속화할 것을 강조했다.
