제7차 회의서 CTX·KTX 세종역 등 ‘5대 핵심 과제’ 최종 점검

세종특별자치시의 미래 경쟁력을 강화하고 ‘미래전략수도’로서의 기틀을 닦아온 세종시의회 미래전략수도완성특별위원회(위원장 김동빈, 이하 특위)가 활동 종료를 앞두고 마지막까지 핵심 현안 점검에 박차를 가하고 있다.
특위는 6일 제7차 회의를 개최하여 그동안 집중해 온 5대 주요 과제의 추진 상황을 최종 점검하고, 향후 과제에 대한 집행부의 보고를 청취했다.
이번 회의는 특히 같은 날 오전 본회의에서 ‘충청권 광역급행철도(CTX) 주요 거점 정류장 설치 촉구 결의안’이 통과된 직후 열려, 특위 활동의 실질적인 성과를 재확인하는 자리가 됐다.
특위가 지난 3년간 공을 들여온 5대 핵심 과제는 중입자가속기 암치료센터 유치 ,KTX 세종역 신설 ,충청권 광역급행철도(CTX) 조기 추진 ,세종~청주 고속도로 조기 개통 ,국가산단 조성 등이다.
이날 보고에서 세종시 집행부는 지난해 민자적격성조사를 통과한 CTX 사업이 현재 ‘제3자 제안공고’ 단계에 진입했다고 설명했다.
특히 특위와 시의회가 강력히 요구해 온 ‘주요 거점 정거장 신설’ 및 ‘환승센터 건설 방안’에 대해서도 향후 사업계획 공개 과정에서 적극 검토하겠다는 입장을 밝혀, 특위의 정책 제언이 실무에 반영되고 있음을 시사했다.
2023년 2월 출범한 특위는 약 3년간 세종시의 자족 기능을 확충하고 미래 산업 기반을 마련하기 위한 의정 활동에 집중해 왔다.
오는 6월 30일 활동 종료를 앞둔 특위는 다가오는 제104회 임시회에서 최종 활동결과 보고서를 채택하며 공식적인 활동을 마무리할 예정이다.
