‘살던 곳에서 건강하게 늙어가는(Aging in Place)’정책 목표가 현장에서 현실이 되고 있다는 평가다.
군은 지난해 말 지역 의료기관인 남강의원과 업무협약을 체결하고, 마을 중심 돌봄망을 통해 어르신의 일상과 생활 여건을 살펴온 기존 돌봄 체계에 전문 의료 서비스를 결합했다.
돌봄과 의료를 분리하지 않고 하나의 생활권 안에서 연계하는 증평형 노인복지모델의 방향성이 구체화된 것이다.
남강의원은 2026년 1월부터 방문진료 서비스를 시작해 한 달여 만에 △방문진료 48건 △방문간호 423건 △대상자 맞춤형 의료상담 40건 등 총 511건의 의료 서비스를 제공하며 현장에 빠르게 안착했다.
병원 접근이 어려웠던 고령 어르신을 중심으로 서비스 수요가 집중되며 정책 효과도 단기간에 가시화되고 있다.
서비스를 이용한 한 어르신은 “다리가 아파 병원 가는 게 큰 일이었는데, 의사 선생님과 간호사가 직접 집으로 찾아와 진찰을 해주니 너무 좋다”며 만족감을 드러냈다.
군은 3월부터 재택의료센터 체계로 운영을 확대할 계획이다.
의사·간호사·사회복지사로 구성된 다학제 팀이 대상자별 관리 계획을 수립해 의사는 월 1회 이상 정기 방문 진료를 실시하고, 간호사는 월 2회 이상 복약 지도와 간호 처치를 맡는다.
사회복지사는 주거 환경과 복지 자원 연계 필요 여부를 점검해 군청 통합돌봄팀과 실시간 협력한다.
이에 따라 병원 이동이 어려워 치료를 미루거나 요양병원 입소를 고민하던 어르신들도 익숙한 생활 공간에서 의료와 돌봄을 함께 받을 수 있게 됐다.
연재현 원장은 “증평군의 통합돌봄 네트워크와 긴밀히 협력해 의료 소외계층이 없는 증평을 만드는 데 일조하겠다”고 말했다.
