충북도가 최근 공표한 2023년 기준 ‘충청북도 시·군 단위 지역내총생산(GRDP)’ 추계결과에 따르면 괴산군의 실질성장률은 3.2%로 단양군(3.6%)에 도내 두 번째로 높았다.
충북 11개 시·군 중 실질성장률이 3% 넘은 곳은 괴산군과 단양군뿐이다. 같은 기간 충북 평균 실질성장률이 –0.7%에 머문 것과 비교하면 군의 성장세는 더욱 두드러진다.
명목 총생산 규모도 확대됐다. 군의 2023년 GRDP는 1조9,255억 원으로 전년(1조7,592억 원) 대비 9.5% 증가했다. 이는 도내 평균 명목 성장률 3.3%를 크게 상회하는 수준이다.
