【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충북 괴산군은 오는 27일까지 칠성면 괴산자연드림파크에서 산림청 주관 2026년 숲길 및 동서트레일 담당자 워크숍을 개최한다고 26일 밝혔다.
워크숍은 2026년 숲길 정책의 원활한 추진과 대한민국을 가로지르는 동서트레일의 성공적인 조성을 위해 전국 산림 담당자들의 정책을 공유하고 의견을 수렴하고자 마련됐다.
행사에는 이수현 부군수, 박은식 산림청 차장, 김진형 충청북도 환경산림국장, 정연국 중부지방산림청장, 전국 지자체 담당자 등 120여 명이 참석해 자리를 빛냈다.
동서트레일은 본선 68.2km(청천·칠성·장연·연풍 구간)와 복선 28.9km(칠성·괴산·불정 구간)를 합쳐 총 97.1km에 달한다.
군은 2024년부터 2026년까지 총사업비 54억 9천만 원(도비 35.68억, 군비 19.22억)을 투입해 숲길 신설 및 정비, 대피소 조성, 안내판 설치 등을 진행하며 지역을 대표하는 명품 숲길로 완성해 나가고 있다.
워크숍에서는 △'26년 숲길정책 설명 △소멸위기 농산촌 지역 활성화를 위한 동서트레일 활용방안 △한국의 대표 K-장거리트레일 조성 전략 등의 다채로운 특강과 토론이 진행됐다.
27일에는 참석자들이 직접 참여하는 현장 토론을 통해 동서트레일 발전 방향을 모색하는 시간을 가진다.
이수현 부군수는 “면적의 76%가 숲인 괴산에서 숲길은 쉼과 치유, 지역 활력을 이끄는 핵심 인프라”라며“워크숍이 숲길 조성의 성과를 공유하고 더 나은 발전 방향을 모색하는 뜻깊은 교류의 시간이 되길 바란다”고 말했다

Goesan County, North Chungcheong Province, announced on the 26th that it will hold a workshop for officials working on the 2026 Forest Trail and East-West Trail, hosted by the Korea Forest Service, at Goesan Natural Dream Park in Chilseong-myeon until the 27th.
The workshop was designed to share policies and gather input from forestry officials nationwide to ensure the smooth implementation of the 2026 Forest Trail policy and the successful construction of the East-West Trail across South Korea.
Approximately 120 people attended the event, including Deputy County Mayor Lee Su-hyeon, Deputy Commissioner Park Eun-sik of the Korea Forest Service, Director Kim Jin-hyeong of the Chungcheongbuk-do Environment and Forestry Bureau, Director Jeong Yeon-guk of the Central Regional Forest Service, and local government officials from across the country.

From 2024 to 2026, the county is investing a total of KRW 5.49 billion (KRW 3.568 billion from the province and KRW 1.922 billion from the county) to build and maintain forest trails, build shelters, and install information signs. This will transform the trail into a premier regional forest trail.
The workshop featured a variety of special lectures and discussions, including: 1) an explanation of the 2026 forest trail policy; 2) ways to utilize the Dongseo Trail to revitalize endangered rural areas; and 3) strategies for developing Korea's signature K-long-distance trail.
On the 27th, attendees will participate in an on-site discussion to explore future directions for the Dongseo Trail.
Deputy Governor Lee Su-hyeon said, “In Goesan, where 76% of the area is forest, forest paths are a key infrastructure that leads to rest, healing, and regional vitality,” and added, “I hope that the workshop will be a meaningful time of exchange to share the results of forest path creation and seek better directions for development.”
