【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=옥천군은 「진실·화해를 위한 과거사정리 기본법」 시행에 따라 2026년 2월 26일부터 과거사 진실규명 신청을 접수한다고 밝혔다.
이번 신청 접수는 항일독립운동, 일제강점기 이후 해외동포사, 광복 이후 민간인 집단 희생사건, 공권력에 의한 중대한 인권침해 및 조작의혹사건 등 역사적 진실을 규명하고 과거와의 화해를 통해 국민통합에 기여하기 위해 추진된다.
신청은 옥천군 행정과 또는 진실·화해를위한과거사정리위원회에 방문하거나 우편으로 가능하다. 접수 기간은 2026년 2월 26일부터 2028년 2월 25일까지 2년간이며, 자세한 사항은 옥천군과 위원회 누리집을 통해 확인할 수 있다.
옥천군에서는 한국전쟁 전후 ▲국민보도연맹 사건(동이 평산리, 군서 월전리·용머리·오동리 등) ▲미군 오폭 사건(청산 노루목재) ▲적대세력에 의한 피해 등으로 다수의 민간인 희생이 발생한 바 있다.
옥천군한군전쟁민간인희생자유족회 금기홍 회장은 “가족을 잃은 슬픔과 억울한 오명 속에 살아온 유족들이 여전히 많다”며 “이번 제3기 진화위를 통해 모든 유족의 진실이 규명되고, 대한민국이 대통합으로 나아가는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 밝혔다. 이어 “상처받은 유족들이 치유될 수 있도록 군민 여러분의 관심과 협조를 부탁드린다”고 말했다.
