시는 이번 인상을 통해 전국 단체 관광객의 방문을 확대하고 전통시장 상권에 활력을 더할 계획이다. 지원금 확대를 통해 방문객 유입을 늘리고, 전통시장 소비를 촉진해 상권 매출 증대를 도모한다는 방침이다.
시 관계자는 “이번 지원책이 전국의 관광객들이 제천의 풍부한 관광자원을 만끽하고, 전통시장의 넉넉한 인심까지 경험하는 소중한 계기가 되길 바란다”라며 “앞으로도 전통시장 활성화를 위한 다각적인 유치 전략을 발굴해 지역 경제에 실질적인 보탬이 되도록 최선을 다하겠다”라고 말했다.
한편 제천시 전통시장 러브투어는 ▲30명 이상 타지역 관광객이 ▲지역 식당을 이용하고 ▲명소를 관광한 뒤 ▲전통시장에 들러 1시간 30분 이상 체류할 경우 ▲관광버스를 무상 지원해주는 사업이다. 거주지에서 관광버스를 임대해서 올 경우 임차보전료 40만 원을 지원한다.
이 외에도 청풍호 크루즈 및 청풍 문화재단지 탑승(입장)료 50% 할인, 러브투어 전문 관광해설사 무상 지원 등의 추가 혜택이 제공된다. 사전 예약제로만 운영되며, 예약은 전통시장 러브투어 운영실로 하면 된다.
