【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=단양군 매포읍은 주민 의료복지 향상과 체계적인 건강관리를 위해 녹십자아이메드와 건강검진 지원 업무협약을 체결했다고 지난 3일 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 시멘트산업사회공헌재단 기금을 활용해 의료 접근성이 상대적으로 낮은 지역 주민들에게 양질의 검진 서비스를 제공하고, 질병의 조기 발견과 예방을 통해 건강한 지역사회를 조성하기 위해 추진된다.
지난 2월 26일 매포읍행정복지센터에서 진행된 협약식에는 신상균 매포읍장과 녹십자아이메드 관계자 등이 참석해 사업 추진 방향과 지원 방안에 대해 논의했다.
이번 협약을 통해 매포읍 주민들은 수도권의 첨단 의료장비와 전문 인력을 갖춘 검진시설을 보다 편리하고 경제적인 조건으로 이용할 수 있게 됐다.
특히 의료 사각지대에 놓이기 쉬운 고령층 주민들의 건강관리 기반이 한층 강화될 것으로 기대된다.
녹십자아이메드 관계자는 “매포읍 주민들이 건강한 삶을 영위할 수 있도록 수준 높은 검진 서비스를 제공하는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
신상균 매포읍장은 “주민에게 가장 중요한 복지는 건강이라는 생각으로 이번 협약을 추진했다”며 “앞으로도 외부 전문기관과의 긴밀한 협력을 통해 주민들이 체감할 수 있는 실질적인 복지행정을 지속적으로 펼쳐 나가겠다”고 말했다.
