군은 최근 3년간 5억원을 들여 총 394개소에 보관·방치된 슬레이트를 처리했다.
올해는 2억원의 예산을 편성, 총 133개소에 가구당 최대 150만원을 지원할 계획이며 상한금액 초과분은 자부담해야 한다.
지원대상은 철거 또는 재해 등의 사유로 건축물에서 분리되어 보관 중인 슬레이트와 하천, 빈집, 국공유지에 방치된 슬레이트이다.
슬레이트 처리를 희망하는 주민은 신청서와 구비서류를 첨부해 3월 27일까지 해당 슬레이트 소재 읍·면사무소를 방문해서 신청하면 된다.
김주석 환경과장은 "경제적 부담으로 처리를 미뤄왔던 주민들의 많은 신청을 바란다”며 “슬레이트의 불법투기 및 불법매립을 방지하여 ‘자연과 함께하는 청정괴산’을 만들어가겠다”고 말했다.
