세계인의 주목을 받은 K-팝 데몬 헌터스 OST로 세계와 만나는 몸의 언어가 펼쳐진다.
주영한국문화원(원장 선승혜)은 2026년 K-팝 아카데미 대표 프로그램인 ‘제이킴과 함께하는 K-POP 댄스 아카데미(K-POP Dance Academy with Jay Kim)’를 오는 3월 10일부터 12일까지 3일간 개최한다. 이번 워크숍에는 세계적으로 활동하는 안무가 김영재가 특별 강사로 참여해 ‘K-팝 데몬 헌터스(K-POP Demon Hunters)’ OST를 바탕으로 한 창작 안무 프로그램을 선보일 예정이다.
행사는 단순히 기존 안무를 배우는 형식이 아니라, 음악을 새롭게 해석하고 창작 안무를 통해 무대를 완성하는 과정에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 3월 10일에는 ‘Your Idol’, 11일에는 ‘사랑인가 봐’, 12일에는 ‘Free’를 주제로 김영재가 직접 창작한 안무가 공개된다. 참가자들은 곡의 구조와 리듬을 이해하며 몸의 움직임으로 음악을 해석하는 경험을 통해 K-팝 퍼포먼스의 창작적 면모를 체험하게 된다.
선승혜 주영한국문화원장은 이번 프로그램의 의미를 다음과 같이 설명한다. “오늘날 K-팝은 단순한 음악 장르를 넘어 음악, 춤, 패션, 가사, 영상미가 결합한 복합 예술로 자리 잡았습니다. 세대와 문화를 넘어 감성을 연결하는 새로운 보편 문화로 성장하고 있습니다. 참가자들이 창작 안무를 통해 자신만의 표현을 발견하고 한국 미학의 생동하는 에너지를 몸으로 느끼는 시간이 되기를 기대합니다.”
특별 강사로 참여하는 안무가 김영재는 대한민국 대표 댄스 스튜디오 원밀리언 댄스 스튜디오 출신으로 가수 박재범, 더보이즈 등 다양한 K-팝 아티스트와 협업해 온 안무가다. 그는 지금까지 전 세계 61개국 164개 도시를 순회하며 글로벌 워크숍과 심사 활동을 이어 왔으며 정교하면서도 역동적인 안무 스타일로 국제적인 주목을 받고 있다.
김영재 안무가는 이번 프로그램에 대해 이렇게 말한다. “이번 워크숍은 기존 안무를 그대로 배우는 형식이 아니라 제가 직접 창작한 안무를 통해 음악을 새롭게 해석하는 과정입니다. 참가자들이 춤을 통해 자신만의 표현을 발견하고 무대를 완성하는 경험을 하게 되기를 바랍니다.”

The Korean Cultural Centre UK (Director Seon Seung-hye) will host the "K-Pop Dance Academy with Jay Kim," the 2026 K-Pop Academy's flagship program, for three days from March 10th to 12th. World-renowned choreographer Kim Young-jae will participate as a special instructor and present an original choreography program based on the "K-Pop Demon Hunters" OST.
The event focuses on reinterpreting the music and creating original choreography to create a compelling performance. He has toured 164 cities in 61 countries around the world, conducting global workshops and judging, and has garnered international attention for his sophisticated yet dynamic choreography.
Choreographer Kim Young-jae commented on the program: "This workshop isn't about learning existing choreography, but about reinterpreting music through choreography I've created myself. I hope participants will discover their own expressions through dance and experience perfecting their performances."
Launched in 2012, the "K-Pop Academy" has become a signature cultural education program of the Korean Cultural Centre UK, celebrating its 14th anniversary this year.
