[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시가 캠핑카 등 장기 방치 차량을 체계적으로 관리하기 위한 공영주차장을 조성하고 본격 운영에 나선다고 18일 밝혔다.
진주시는 정촌면 예하리 진주뿌리일반산업단지 일원에 캠핑카 등 장기 주차 차량 임시 보관 기능을 겸한 공영주차장을 조성하고 17일 준공식을 개최했다고전했다.

해당 주차장은 총사업비 21억9000만원을 투입해 면적 4346.4㎡에 130면 규모로 조성, 일반 차량 78면과 장애인 차량 3면, 전기차 5면, 견인 차량 보관 공간 44면을 갖췄다.
시는 시범 운영을 거쳐 연내 정식 개장할 계획이며, 장기 고정 주차 차량에 대해서는 견인비와 보관료를 부과하고 2급지 공영주차장 요금제를 적용할 방침이다.
진주시 관계자는 “도심 내 장기 방치 차량 문제를 해소하기 위한 시설이다”며 “쾌적한 도시환경 조성과 교통질서 확립에 기여할 것으로 기대된다”고 말했다.
