[브레이크뉴스경기남부=용인 이현준기자] 이상일 용인특례시장은 19일 기흥구 백남준아트센터에서 열린 국제기획전 불연속의 접점들 개막식에 참석했다.
이번 전시는 백남준아트센터와 크로아티아 자그레브 현대미술관이 공동 기획한 것으로 백남준 작가의 예술 정신과 맥을 같이하는 크로아티아 미디어아트 작품들을 소개하며 양국 간 문화예술 교류를 강화하기 위해 마련됐다.
전시는 6월 14일까지 진행되며 크로아티아 작가 15명의 영상과 설치 및 조각 등 작품 26점을 선보인다.
이 시장은 개막식 전 다미르 쿠센 주한 크로아티아 대사와 환담을 하며 용인특례시와 크로아티아 도시 간 교류 협력 방안을 논의했다.
쿠센 대사는 고대 로마 유산과 국립공원이 인접한 항구도시 자다르를 교류 도시로 추천했으며 이 시장은 이를 적극 검토하기로 했다. 이 시장은 축사에서 이번 전시가 한국과 크로아티아가 예술로 연결되는 뜻깊은 자리라고 강조하며 예술가들의 상상력과 도전 정신을 시정 혁신과 발전에 접목하겠다는 의지를 밝혔다.
