9~10일 권리당원 100% 투표 결과 상위 4인 확정…
17~19일부터 ‘당원 50%·민심 50%’ 참여 본경선 돌입
한태선 “네거티브 자제하고 정책으로 승부… ‘원팀’ 전통 이어갈 것”
더불어민주당 천안시장 후보 선출을 위한 경선이 첫 관문을 통과하며 4강 체제로 압축됐다. 한태선 예비후보를 비롯한 상위 4명의 후보가 본경선 진출을 확정 짓고 천안시장 탈환을 위한 본격적인 레이스에 나섰다.
더불어민주당 충남도당에 따르면, 지난 9일부터 10일까지 실시된 1차 예비경선(권리당원 100% 투표) 결과 한태선, 구본영, 이규희, 장기수 예비후보(가나다순)가 본경선행 티켓을 거머쥐었다.
이번 예비경선은 총 8명의 후보가 각축을 벌인 끝에 당원들의 지지를 가장 많이 얻은 4인이 다음 단계로 진출하게 됐다.
한태선 예비후보는 결과 발표 직후 소감을 통해 “이번 결과는 천안의 새로운 발전과 변화를 갈망하는 당원들의 소중한 뜻이 모인 결과”라며 “더 무거운 책임감을 갖고 천안시민과 당원 동지의 성원에 반드시 최종 공천권 획득으로 보답하겠다”고 밝혔다.
이어 함께 선의의 경쟁을 펼쳤으나 탈락한 후보들에게도 위로를 전했다. 한 후보는 “8명의 후보가 경쟁한 것은 민주당의 저력을 보여준 증거”라며 “김미화, 김영만, 최재용, 황천순 동료 예비후보들께 깊은 위로와 감사의 말씀을 전한다”고 덧붙였다.
한 후보는 향후 경선 과정에서의 ‘클린 정치’를 거듭 강조했다.
그는 “본경선과 결선까지 아직 가야 할 길이 멀다”며 “네거티브는 모두가 패배하는 길인 만큼, 철저히 자제하고 오직 정책과 비전으로만 승부해야 한다”고 목소리를 높였다. 또한 “경쟁이 끝나면 다시 ‘한 팀’으로 뭉치는 것이 우리 당의 자랑스러운 전통”이라며 지방선거 승리를 위한 결집을 당부했다.
본경선 진출자가 확정됨에 따라 더불어민주당 천안시장 후보 경선은 더욱 치열해질 전망이다.
본경선은 오는 17일부터 19일까지 권리당원 투표 50%와 일반 시민 여론조사 50%를 합산하는 방식으로 진행된다. 만약 본경선에서 과반 득표자가 나오지 않을 경우, 상위 2명을 대상으로 28일부터 30일까지 결선투표를 치러 최종 후보를 확정하게 된다.
한편, 1차 관문을 통과한 한태선 예비후보는 노무현 정부 청와대 행정관과 민주당 당대표 특보 등을 지낸 정무적 역량을 바탕으로 지역구별 맞춤형 공약 발표와 민심 탐방 등 광폭 행보를 이어갈 예정이다.
