더불어민주당 내 이재명계 핵심 인사로 꼽히는 이건태 국회의원(경기 부천병)이 충남도지사 경선 결선 투표를 하루 앞둔 12일, 양승조 후보 캠프를 방문해 전폭적인 지지를 선언했다.
이 의원은 이재명 당대표 시절 특별보좌역을 지내며 당의 핵심 전략과 소통을 담당해온 인물이다.
민주당 법률대변인과 원내부대표 등을 거치며 ‘이재명 정부’의 국정 철학을 가장 잘 이해하는 인물로 평가받는 만큼, 그의 이번 방문은 결선 투표의 향방을 가를 중대 분수령이 될 전망이다.
양승조 캠프에 따르면 이날 캠프를 찾은 이건태 의원은 양 후보를 향해 “충남의 이재명”이라는 수식어를 붙이며 치켜세웠다고 전했다.
