국민의힘 충남도당 공천관리위원회(이하 공관위)는 당내 경선을 거쳐 제9회 전국동시지방선거에 나설 광역의원 후보자 15명을 최종 확정했다고 15일 밝혔다.
이번 경선은 철저히 당원들의 의사를 묻는 방식으로 진행되어 후보자들의 지역 내 당 장악력과 지지 기반을 입증하는 시험대가 됐다.
이번 경선은 책임당원으로 구성된 선거인단 투표 100% 방식으로 실시됐다. 투표의 공정성과 접근성을 높이기 위해 지난 13일에는 한국전자투표(K-Voting) 위탁경선을 통한 온라인 투표가 진행됐으며, 14일에는 온라인 미참여자를 대상으로 한 ARS 투표가 이어졌다.
공관위는 단순히 득표수만으로 승패를 가르지 않고, 국민의힘이 도입한 공직후보자 기초자격평가(PPAT) 점수를 반영해 후보자의 자질 검증을 병행했다.
최종 결과는 '선거인단 득표율, 신인·여성 등 가산점, PPAT 점수'를 합산해 산정됐다.
이는 실무 역량과 당내 지지도를 고루 갖춘 인물을 공천하겠다는 공관위의 의지가 반영된 결과로 풀이된다.
