대전 유성구가 지역 대학의 교육 자원을 마을 안으로 끌어들여 평생학습의 지평을 넓히고 있다.
유성구는 16일 원신흥동·상대동·신성동 주민자치회와 목원대학교, 대덕대학교가 참여하는 ‘링크유(LinkU) 마을캠퍼스’ 업무 협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
‘링크유’는 유성(U성)과 대학(University), 그리고 주민(yoU)을 하나로 잇겠다는 의미를 담은 유성구만의 독창적인 근거리 평생학습 모델이다. 대학이 보유한 전문 인프라와 교육 역량을 지역사회에 개방해 주민들에게 수준 높은 학습 기회를 제공하는 것이 핵심이다.
지난해 학하동과 국립한밭대, 온천2동과 충남대의 협력을 통해 코딩 교육, 목공 체험, 법률 강좌, 뷰티 클래스 등 주민들의 큰 호응을 얻었던 이 사업은 올해 그 규모와 내실을 한층 강화했다.
올해는 원신흥동·상대동 주민자치회가 목원대학교 RISE사업단과, 신성동 주민자치회가 대덕대학교 평생교육원과 각각 파트너십을 맺었다. 이들은 각 대학의 특성화된 학문 분야와 지역 특성을 고려한 차별화된 맞춤형 교육 과정을 공동으로 기획해 운영할 계획이다.
정용래 유성구청장은 이번 협약을 통해 마을과 대학이 경계 없이 협력하는 새로운 형태의 평생학습 생태계가 더욱 견고해질 것으로 기대하고 있다.
정 구청장은 앞으로도 대학별 강점을 살린 특성화 프로그램을 체계적으로 연계해 지역 평생교육의 질적 성장을 도모하고, 주민 모두가 체감할 수 있는 교육 환경을 조성하는 데 역량을 집중하겠다고 강조했다.

Daejeon Yuseong-gu is expanding the horizons of lifelong learning by bringing the educational resources of local universities into the villages.
Yuseong-gu announced on the 16th that it had signed a business agreement for the ‘LinkU Village Campus,’ involving the Residents’ Associations of Wonsinheung-dong, Sangdae-dong, and Sinseong-dong, as well as Mokwon University and Daedeok University.
‘LinkU’ is Yuseong-gu’s unique, localized lifelong learning model that embodies the meaning of connecting Yuseong (U-seong), University, and Residents (yoU) as one. Yuseong-gu Mayor Jeong Yong-rae expects that this agreement will further solidify a new form of lifelong learning ecosystem where villages and universities cooperate without boundaries.
Mayor Jeong emphasized that he will continue to focus efforts on systematically linking specialized programs that leverage the strengths of each university to promote the qualitative growth of local lifelong education and create an educational environment that all residents can experience firsthand.
