[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 창녕군은 17일 군청 광장에서 제65회 경상남도민체육대회의 성공을 기원하는 성화 맞이 및 봉송 출발 행사를 개최하며 축제의 서막을 올렸다.

이날 행사에는 심상철 군수 권한대행과 홍성두 군의회 의장을 비롯해, 도·군의원, 군 체육회장, 성화 주자 및 지역 주민 등 200여 명이 참석해 도민체전의 시작을 알리는 ‘화합의 불꽃’을 함께 맞이했다.

특히 창녕읍 풍물패의 신명 나는 풍물놀이와 팝페라 공연으로 분위기를 고조시켰으며, 김해 구지봉에서 채화된 성화가 군청 광장에 도착하자 참석자들은 뜨거운 환호와 박수로 성화를 반겼다.

성화는 창녕읍을 시작으로 14개 읍·면 전역을 순회하며, 각 읍·면별 7명씩, 총 98명의 주자가 지역 곳곳에 희망과 화합의 메시지를 전달한 뒤, 개회식이 열리는 함안군 공설운동장으로 향했다.
