대구시교육청은 지난 16일 대구 수성구 만촌동과 범어동 일대 학원을 대상으로 현장 점검을 실시했다고 밝혔다.
이번 점검은 학부모 제보와 민원을 바탕으로 이뤄졌으며, 교습시간(오전 5시~오후 10시) 제한 위반 의심 사례에 초점을 맞췄다.
현장에는 교육부 고등평생교육실장과 대구시교육청 부교육감이 직접 동행했다. 점검반은 2개 조로 나뉘어 심야 시간대 운영 실태를 집중적으로 확인했으며, 특히 문을 잠근 상태로 수업을 이어가는 행위나 독서실을 이용한 편법 교습 여부 등을 중점적으로 점검했다.
점검 결과, 교습시간 제한 규정을 어긴 학원 2곳이 적발됐다. 교육당국은 이들 학원에 대해 벌점 부과 등 행정처분을 예고했다.
대구시교육청 관계자는 “규정을 지키는 학원들이 불이익을 받지 않도록 상시 점검을 더욱 강화하겠다”며 “민원과 불법사교육신고센터로 접수된 내용을 토대로 엄정하게 대응할 방침”이라고 말했다.
