쿠웨이트국(1990년 이라크에서 일시 점령됐다. 걸프 위기). 북과 서쪽으로 이라크, 남쪽으로 사우디아라비아, 동쪽으로 페르시아만이 있다.영국의 지배로부터의 독립은 1961년의 일이다.1961년 6월 19일 영국에서 독립. 7월 1일, 1962년 제1회 쿠웨이트 국민의회 선거가 있었다.

IMF 통계에 의하면, 2015년의 GDP는 약 1232억 달러이며, 시즈오카 현과 거의 같은 규모이다. 같은 해의 1인당 GDP는 2만 9982 달러이다.

석유가 주요 산업으로 2016년 현재 생산량은 300만 배럴/일을 넘는다.세계 4위의 매장량이 있다.그래서 렌티어 국가 중 하나로 꼽힌다.걸프전으로 큰 피해를 봤지만 1994년 전쟁 이전 수준으로 회복됐다.유가 급등에 따른 풍부한 오일 머니로 산업기반의 정비와 복지·교육제도의 확충을 도모하고 있으며, 대부분의 국민은 국가 공무원·국영기업의 사원으로 일하고 있다.석유수입을 이용한 금융입국과 산업의 다각화를 목표로 하여 외국으로부터의 투융자 환경을 정비하여 막대한 고용이 창출되고, 부족한 노동력은 주변외국인이 보충하고 있다. 또한 이러한 사막 기후에서는 농업은 발달하지 않으며, 식료는 외국에 크게 의존하고 있다.실업률이 1.2%로 낮은 수준. 장차 석유 고갈이 우려되지만 당분간은 높은 생산량을 유지할 것으로 예상된다.

石油が主要産業であり、2016年現在の生産量は300万バレル/日を超える。世界第4位の埋蔵量がある。そのため、レンティア国家の一つに数えられる。湾岸戦争により大きな被害を受けたが、1994年に戦前の水準まで回復した。原油価格の高騰による豊富なオイルマネーによって、産業基盤の整備や福祉・教育制度の充実を図っており、ほとんどの国民は国家公務員・国営企業の社員として働いている。石油収入を利用した金融立国や産業の多角化を目指して外国からの投融資環境を整備したため莫大な雇用が創出され、不足している労働力は周辺外国人が補っている。また、このような砂漠気候では農業は発達せず、食料は外国に大きく依存している。失業率は1.2%と低水準。将来的には石油の枯渇が懸念されるが当面は高い生産量を維持可能であると予想されている

쿠웨이트국 제58주년 내셔널 데이 및 제28주년 해방기념일 축하 리셉션이 개최되고, 외무성에서 야마다 겐지 외무장관 정무관이 출석한 바에 따르면 개요는 다음과 같다.

1 리셉션에 앞서, 야마다 정무관으로부터, 일본과 쿠웨이트 관계는 한층 더 강고하고 폭넓은 것이 되고 있어 요인 왕래 및 관민 교류를 통한, 정치, 경제, 문화 등의 분야에서의 양국 관계가 착실히 발전할 수 있도록, 일본 정부로서는 양호한 일·쿠웨이트 관계의 한층 더 진전에 진력하겠다는 취지의 메세지를, 하산·무항메드·살레하·자만 주일 쿠웨이트 대사에게 보냈다.

2 야마다 정무관은, 자만 대사 및 야마시타 법무장관(일, 쿠웨이트 의련 사무국장)과 함께, 케이크·컷 세리머니에 참가해, 쿠웨이트 정부, 그리고, 쿠웨이트 국민의 여러분의 더욱 건승을 기원했다.

(1) Prior to the reception, the Japan-Kuwait relationship was becoming stronger and wider. Japan's relations with other countries in politics, economics and culture will continue to develop in a positive manner through visits of key figures and exchanges.

(2) Parliamentary Secretary Yamada, along with Ambassador Zamann and Minister of Justice Yamashita (Director of the Japan-Kuwait Council), participated in a cake cut ceremony, wishing Kuwaiti government and Kuwaiti people all the best.

クウェート国第58周年ナショナルデー及び第28周年解放記念日祝賀レセプション」が開催され，外務省から山田賢司外務大臣政務官が出席したところ，概要は以下のとおりです。1　レセプションに先立ち，山田政務官から，日・クウェート関係は益々強固で幅広いものとなっており，要人往来及び官民交流を通じた，政治，経済，文化等の分野での両国関係が着実に発展するよう，日本政府として良好な日・クウェート関係の一層の進展に尽力し続ける旨のメッセージを，ハサン・ムハンマド・サーレハ・ザマーン駐日クウェート大使へ送りました。

2　山田政務官は，ザマーン大使及び山下法務大臣（日・クウェート議連事務局長）と共に，ケーキ・カットセレモニーに参加し，クウェート政府，そして，クウェート国民の皆様の一層の御健勝を祈念しました。
