대구 영진전문대학교(총장 최재영)가 메타버스 도서관을 열어 새로운 도서문화 조성에 나섰다.
영진전문대학교는 코로나19의 장기화 가운데 재학생들의 대학생활에 활기를 불어 넣고 힐링의 기회를 마련하는 차원에서 메타버스 도서관을 오픈했다고 밝혔다.

메타버스 도서관은 실제 도서관 전경과 자기주도학습공간과 정보검색실 등의 모습을 구현해 익숙한 공간으로 편안함을 전하며 학생들의 발길을 이끌고 있다.
아울러 도서관 오픈을 기념해‘제8회 책맹탈출클럽’과 함께 ‘메타버스 도서관 사진 찍기’, ‘북큐레이션 전시회’등의 다양한 문화행사로 학생들의 흥미를 더할 예정이다.
오는 26일까지 진행되는 책맹탈출클럽 문화행사는 학생 3명이 한 팀을 구성, 도서관에서 추천한 책 3권을 읽고, 메타버스 도서관에서 제시한 독서관련 퀴즈를 풀고 방을 탈출하는 게임으로 참가팀 전원에게 상품이 지급된다.
메타버스 도서관을 둘러본 김재영(경영회계서비스계열, 2년) 학생은 “실제 도서관과 똑같은 환경에서 문화행사까지 참여할 수 있어서 너무 신기하다. 평소 같으면 행사 참여를 주저했을 텐데 여기선 아바타로 춤을 췄다”고 말했다.
아울러 영진대학교는 학생들이 소통과 공감, 힐링할 수 있는 온오프라인 도서관 문화를 정착하고, 또한 자기계발을 지원할 수 있는 지식 창고의 역할에도 최선을 다할 계획이다.
