박창달 더불어민주당 대구·경북 대전환 선거대책위원회 총괄위원장(전 한국자유총연맹 총재)이 21일 더불어민주당에 입당했다.
지난 11월 더불어민주당 대구·경북 대전환 선거대책위원회 총괄위원장 역할을 맡은 박창달 전 의원이 21일 오전 더불어민주당에 입당하고 본격적인 활동에 나선다고 밝혔다.

이날 입당식에는 차명숙 대구경북 5·18 동지회 공동대표가 참석해 환영의 입장을 전하며 눈길을 끌었다.
5·18민주화운동 당시 광주 시내에서 계엄군의 만행을 알렸던 거리 방송에 앞장섰던 차 대표는 “박창달 전 의원의 민주당 입당에 대해 청년들은 물론이고 어르신들도 환영과 기대를 가지고 있다”면서 “큰 결심을 해주셔서 정말 감사하다”는 인사를 전했다.
박창달 전 의원은 “국민의힘에 제가 지켜온 보수를 궤멸시킨 분들이 중요 직책에 앉는 모습을 보며 정치적 은퇴를 고민하던 때에 이재명 후보와의 통화와 만남을 통해 지혜와 전망을 얻었다"면서 “보수와 진보의 경계가 이제는 없어졌다. 낡은 프레임을 빨리 던지고 실용정신으로 무장하는 나라와 지역만이 살아남을 수 있는 상황에서 대구경북의 발전을 위해 이재명 후보를 돕는 것이 시대정신이라고 생각했다”고 말했다.
