잎이 몽땅 떨어진 겨울의 담쟁이 넝쿨을 보면
식물이 자랄 수 있을 때
얼마나 치열하게 살았는지 알 수 있다.
한겨울, 담쟁이 넝쿨이 지배했던 담벼락은
처절하게 생존의 힘을 다했다는
증표로 보인다.
굵은 가지, 가느다란 가지가 얼키설키
온 벽을 타오르며
자신만의 세상인 녹색 영토를 확장해 나갔다.
한 식물의 삶이 그러할진대
사람인들 오죽하랴
