한중교류촉진위원회 소관 한중수교30주년기념위원회(위원장 이기수 전 고려대학교 총장)는 미술과 서예(추사체)를 결합한 백희영(白暿煐)만의 작품, ‘한중수교30주년기념위원회’ 추사체 한문 글씨가 그의 재능기부를 통해 전달됐다.
이번 작품도 국내 미추학파(美秋學派) 창시 작가의 면모에 걸맞게 추사 글씨를 조화롭게 구성함으로 한국과 중국 국민들로부터 이전에 보지 못한 새로운 추사 세계를 접하게 됐다.
백희영 교수는 김환기, 이우환 작가도 졸업한 일본의 니혼(日本)대학을 졸업하고, 귀국 후 한양대학교(박사)에서 학업을 마쳤다.
중국 하북미술대학의 객좌교수로도 활동하고 있으며, 한중교류촉진위원회 예술문화위원장 및 일본에서의 40여년 활동한 기반을 바탕으로 현재 한일미술협회 초대회장을 맡고 있다.
이어 지난해 신일본 미술원 주최 '제53회 국제공모전'에서 국제심사원장상 수상과 북경 동계 올림픽 세계 100대 작가로 초대를 받아 그녀의 미추(美秋)작품이 강소성 사이버 미술관에서 평생 전시하는 영예도 받았다.
한편, 한중교류촉진위원회 이창호 위원장은 “백희영 교수의 미추 작품이 한중수교 30주년을 맞이하여, 추사 글씨의 성격과 이념을 부각시킨것으로써 차별화를 꾀하는 이미지 전략에 발맞춘 BI(Brand Identity)를 도입하게 되어 매우 기쁘다”라고 밝혔다.
