제8회 전국동시지방선거에서 구미시장에 출사표를 던진 김장호 전 경상북도 기획조정실장이 국민의힘 윤석열 대통령 후보 중앙선거대책위원회 조직통합본부 행정자치위원회 구미시 위원장으로 임명됐다는 소식을 전했다.

앞서 김 전 실장은 윤석열 대통령 후보 구미시갑·을 지역본부 공동선대위원장, 중앙선대위 직능총괄본부 특별위원회 경제산업특보에도 임명된 바 있다.
이에 따라 김 전 실장은 제20대 대통령 선거에서 국민의힘 윤석열 후보의 구미시 표밭을 관리하며 활약할 것으로 기대를 모으고 있다.
김 전 실장은 “현 정부의 잘못된 판단과 무능이 국민의 삶에 얼마나 고통을 주고 있는지 우리 모두 절감하고 있다”며 “보수의 심장 구미에서 정권교체의 바람을 일으켜 대한민국을 지켜 내겠다”고 밝혔다.
또 “이번대선은 상식의 윤석열과 비상식의 이재명과의 싸움이다”라며 “포퓰리즘을 내세워 원칙 없는 승리를 추구하고자 하는 이 행태를 막아야 한다”고 밝혔다.
한편 김 전 실장은 제1회 지방행정고등고시 출신으로 구미 시청에서 첫 사무관 보직으로 공직을 시작했다.
이후 지방과 중앙을 두루 거치며 경제 예산 분야에서 활약했다. 박근혜정부 시절에는 청와대 행정관으로 근무했으며 최근에는 경북도 통합신공항추진(TF) 반장을 맡아 신공항 이전부지 선정에 이철우 경북도지사를 도와 확정지은 바 있다.

Since then, he has been active in the field of economic and budgeting, both provincial and central. He served as a Blue House administrator during the Park Geun-hye administration and recently served as the head of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Integrated New Airport Promotion (TF) team, helping Gyeongbuk Governor Lee Cheol-woo in the selection of a site for the new airport to be relocated.
