더불어민주당 대통령후보인 이재명 후보가 지난 6일 경남 김해 봉하마을의 고(故) 노무현 전 대통령 사저 마당에서 메가공약인 남부수도권 구상을 발표한데 이어 11일 남부수도권 구상 대토론회가 개최되었다.

이날 대토론회에서는 산업연구원장을 역임한 장지상 (경북대 명예교수)의 <남부 수도권 조성을 위한 전략과 과제 ; 남부권 경제생태계 조성 중심으로> 발제를 시작으로 토론자로 나선 박동철 (전 포스리 상무)박사의 <탄소중립을 포함한 기존 산업의 고도화 및 탄소중립산업벨트 조성 방안>, 이헌욱 (전 경기도시주택공사 사장)의 <신산업특화수도 혁신 거점 도시의 필요성 및 건설 방향>, 이동진 (상명대 교수)의 <사회기반시설 확충 등 국민의 실질적 정주여건 개선에 대한 비전>, 박재필 (군산대 교수)의 <남부수도권 구상 가능성에 대한 평가 및 법제도 정비 안>을 중심으로 열띤 토론이 진행되었다.
토론회를 주최하는 이재명 더불어민주당 대통령후보 선대위 남부권경제대책위원회(홍의락 상임위원장)는 김승남(전남), 김성주(전북), 송갑석(광주), 이상헌(울산), 박재호(부산), 김정호(경남) 국회의원이 공동위원장을 맡고 있으며, 향후 남부수도권 구상의 실현을 위해 각 권역별 활동을 전개해 나갈 방침이다.
홍의락 남부권경제대책위 상임위원장은 “남부 수도권 구상은 대전환기 시대에 위기를 기회로 만드는 담대한 구상이자 전환적 공정성장의 핵심 전략”이라며 “국가 운영시스템 패러다임의 전환과 1,800만 남부권 경제생태계 구축으로 수도권 과밀과 지방소멸로 정체되고 있는 저성장의 늪을 빠져나가고, 무엇보다 지역의 청년들이 일자리를 찾아 수도권으로 가야 하는 현실을 바꿀 강력한 대안”이라고 강조했다.
