최근 전북대 뉴실크로드센터에서 열린 ‘2021 대한약학회 추계국제학술대회’에서 상을 수상한 이예지 씨는 최근 제약업계의 화두가 되고 있는 QbD(Quality by Design)를 도입해 빠른 약효를 나타내는 위궤양치료제 개발에 대해 연구했다.
‘QbD’란 의약품을 개발할 때, 품질 목표를 미리 설정해 생산 공정 및 관리를 설계함으로써 품질 높은 제품을 생산하기 위한 접근법으로 이예지 씨의 포스터는 위궤양 치료제 ‘일라프라졸’의 약효 발현 시간을 단축시킨 연구 결과를 담고 있다.
이 씨는 앞서 ‘2021 대한약학회 춘계국제학술대회’에서도 우수 포스터 발표상을 수상한 바 있다. 대한약학회 학술대회에서 같은 학생이 연이어 수상하는 사례는 드물어 학계에서 주목받고 있다.
이예지 씨는 “국내 약학 분야를 대표하는 대한약학회에서 두 차례나 수상을 하게 되어 뜻 깊다. 이번 학기를 끝으로 졸업을 앞두고 있는데, 사회에 나가서도 연구개발에 기여할 수 있도록 꾸준히 연구에 매진하겠다”고 말했다.
