대구대학교가 대구광역시 남구에서 주관하는 ‘지역사회 통합돌봄 선도사업’ 수행기관으로 3년 연속 선정되었다는 소식을 전했다.
최근 대구대 재활과학원은 지역사회 통합돌봄 ‘방문재활사업’ 보조사업자로 선정되었으며, 대구광역시 보조기기센터가 ‘보조기기 지원사업’을 수행하게 됨에 따라 보조금 9,500여만 원을 확보해 이번 달부터 오는 12월까지 사업을 추진한다.

재활과학원은 환자의 의료 및 재활치료에 대한 욕구에 따라 언어재활, 미술심리, 인지재활, 감각재활, 심리운동, 운동재활과 같은 6개 영역에 대한 방문 재활사업을 실시한다.
또한, 대구대에서 운영하는 대구광역시 보조기기센터는 공적 급여로 받을 수 없던 보조기기를 신청한 장애인들에게 심층 상담·평가를 통해 교육·관리함으로써 장애인의 자립생활을 지원할 예정으로 지난 2020년 54명을 비롯해 총 100여 명에게 이동·일상생활·정보통신 관련의 다양한 보조기기를 지원했다.
대구광역시 남구에 주소를 둔 장애인이면 지원 대상이 되며, 장애 상태에 따라 적합한 보조기기 및 방문 재활치료가 필요한 경우 인근 행정복지센터에서 신청할 수 있다.
김화수 재활과학원장(대구대 언어치료학과 교수)은 “지역사회 통합돌봄(커뮤니티케어) 사업을 구축할 수 있음에 감사하다”면서 “사랑·빛·자유의 대학 건학이념을 바탕으로 중추적인 역할을 수행하는 재활 전문가 양성을 위해 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
이근민 보조기기센터장(대구대 재활공학과 교수)도 “장애인 개인의 수요에 맞는 서비스를 제공함으로써 장애인이 지역사회에서 보다 어울려 살아갈 수 있도록 도움을 주는 센터로 운영하겠다”고 말했다.
