대구가톨릭대, 제2회 안중근동양평화상 수상

대구가톨릭대 안중근연구소(소장 김효신)가 안중근의사숭모회가 수여하는 ‘제2회 안중근동양평화상’ 수상기관으로 선정됐다.

‘안중근동양평화상’은 안중근의사의 숭고한 애국정신과 평화사상을 기리고 그 사상을 미래세대에 계승하기 위해 마련된 것으로 사단법인 안중근의사숭모회가 안 의사와 관련된 학술연구 및 선양활동에 공헌한 개인 또는 단체를 학술, 선양, 특별부문을 기준으로 선정한다.

‘제2회 안중근동양평화상’을 수상하게 된 대구가톨릭대 안중근연구소는 학교와 안 의사, 그의 딸 안현생 여사와의 인연, 학교의 역사 등을 바탕으로 공모 내용을 제출했다.

대구가톨릭대는 2011년 교내에 안중근연구소를 개소, 전시실을 개관했으며 중앙도서관 앞에는 안 의사 추모비를 건립했다.

안 의사의 생애와 업적을 되돌아보고, 그에 대한 보다 깊은 연구를 수행하기 위해 매년 학술대회와 국제학술회의를 개최하고 있으며, 2015년부터는 안 의사의 하얼빈 의거를 기념하고 애국애족 정신을 선양 및 계승하기 위해 매년 유묵서예대전을 개최하고 있다.

그 밖에도 안 의사의 동양평화사상을 계승하기 위해 한·중·일 재학생과 내외빈들이 함께 답사를 하는 동양평화캠프, 관련 인사 초청특강 등을 진행하고 있다. 매년 3월 26일에는 안 의사 순국 기념 추모식을 열어 그의 나라 사랑 정신을 기리고 있다.

김효신 안중근연구소장은 “안중근연구소는 안 의사의 숭고한 애국정신과 평화사상을 알리기 위한 학술연구 등을 개최함으로써 선양활동에 공헌하고 있다. 올해부터는 논문집 창간호 발간 준비 등을 통해 안 의사의 인류애적 활동을 보다 활발히 실천할 것”이라고 말했다.

한편 시상식은 오는 26일 서울 안중근의사기념관에서 열릴 예정이다.
