희망브리지가 우크라이나 접경 지역에 해외봉사단을 파견해 전쟁 피해로 시름하는 난민 구호 활동을 전개했다.
희망브리지 전국재해구호협회(회장 송필호)는 구호모금 본부 및 커뮤니케이션 본부의 사원, 약사 및 한의사 등 희망브리지 자원봉사단으로 구성된 총 5인의 해외 봉사단이 폴란드로 출국해 현지 구호 활동을 펼쳤다고 밝혔다.
이들 희망브리지 해외봉사단은 지난 23일 폴란드 프셰미실에 도착해 전쟁 피해 난민들이 밀집된 인도주의 지원센터를 찾았다. 이어 난민들이 처한 피해 상황과 필요한 지원 등에 대한 실태 조사, 한인회 및 글로벌 NGO 등 각국 구호 단체와도 접촉해 후속 지원 계획도 협의했다.
특히 폴란드 크라쿠프 지역에서 활동 중인 김상칠 목사를 통해 우크라이나 내 보호소 난민들에게 영양제 및 일반 의약품과 식료품 등을 지원했으며, 국경을 넘어 우크라이나에 의약품을 보급하는 노르웨이 의료봉사팀을 통해 응급구호키트를 전달하는 등 우크라이나 내부로의 지원을 위해 노력했다.
희망브리지 김정희 사무총장은 "전쟁은 인간성이 파괴되기 때문에 가장 참혹한 재난이다"면서 "적극적인 해외봉사단 활동을 통해 인류애로 연대하기 위한 지원과 노력에 힘을 쏟겠다"고 지속적인 해외 구호 활동에 대한 의지를 내비쳤다.
