김동식 대구시의원, "대구시장 자리 정치적 발판 삼아선 안돼"

대구광역시의회 김동식 의원이 제8회 전국동시지방선거 대구시장 선거 출마를 공식 선언했다.

1일 오후 1시 30분 대구시의회 간담회장에서 기자회견을 열고 대구시장 선거에 출사표를 던진 김동식 의원은 “대구는 노회한 국민의힘 정치인들의 안락한 노후처가 아니다”라며 “저는 그런 정치인들로부터 대구를 지키기 위해 출마에 나섰다“는 입장을 전했다.

이어 그는 “정치인의 주인인 유권자는 부족한 정치권력을 투표로 바꿀 수 있는 권력을 갖고 있다”며 “대구의 정치권력도 새로운 정당과 사람으로 바뀌어야한다”고 강조했다.

김 의원은 “현재 대구시장으로 출마한 유력후보 두 분은 대구시장 자리를 정치적 발판으로 이용하기 위해서 왔다고 보여진다.”면서 “제가 감히 말씀드리는데 그런 마음으로 대구시장에 도전하면 대구시장 자리는 그들의 무덤이 될 것이라고 확신한다.”며 국민의힘 홍준표 의원과 김재원 최고위원을 겨냥한 발언을 쏟아냈다.
