배시열 칠곡군수 예비후보가 문재인 정부의 코로나 방역정책을 작심비판하고 나섰다.
지난 31일 배 예비후보는 자신의 페이스북을 통해 “오늘로써 코로나19 누적 확진자 수가 1,300만명을 넘으면서 국민 4명 중 한 사람이 코로나에 감염되기에 이르렀다”며 “이제 국민들은 코로나에 감염돼도 제대로 된 의료체계의 보호를 받지도 못 하고 진단부터 치료까지 스스로 판단하고 결정하는 고통의 각자도생의 시간을 보내고 있다”고 꼬집었다.

중앙방역대책본부는 지난 31일 0시 기준으로 신규 확진자가 32만743명 늘어 누적 1,309만5,631명으로 집계됐다고 밝혔다.
배 후보는 “결국 이런 상황이 올 것이었다면 지금까지 소상공인과 자영업자를 벼랑 끝으로 몰아버린 무자비한 영업제한, 국민들의 자유로운 이동마저 막은 집합금지가 무슨 소용이 있었냐.”고 반문했다.
이어 배 후보는 “차라리 지난 2년동안 문재인정부가 아무것도 하지 않았다면 차라리 더 나았을 것”라며, “문재인 정부는 코로나 방역대책은 이른바 K방역을 자신들의 정치적인 치적으로 만들기 위해 국민을 옥죄기만 했던 ‘정치방역’이었을 뿐”이라고 비판했다.
