(브레이크뉴슨인천 문광수 기자) 부천시가 네이버웹툰과 웹툰 전문 제작사 레드아이스 스튜디오와 함께 우수 웹툰 콘텐츠 발굴과 창작자 육성을 위한 ‘2022 모든 웹툰 공모전’을 공동 개최한다.
부천시는 국내 최정상급 공모전 개최를 통해 내년 5월에 개관하는 웹툰융합센터를 기반으로 상동 영상문화단지에 창작(제작)-유통-소비로 이어지는 웹툰 생태계를 완성해 간다는 계획이다.
이번 공모전은 총상금 1억5천만 원 규모로, 대상 2편 각 3,000만 원, 최우수상 4편 각 1,500만 원, 우수상 5편 각 400만 원, 장려상 10편 각 100만 원의 창작지원금도 시상한다.
또한, 선정자는 웹툰융합센터 창작공간 무상입주 혜택과 함께 업계 최고의 멘토링 프로그램을 제공받으며 특히, 대상 수상자는 네이버웹툰에 연재할 기회가 주어진다.
공모전 접수는 6월 20일부터 7월 10일까지이며, 만 15세 이상이면 신인 및 기성 작가, 개인 또는 팀(스튜디오) 제한 없이 누구나 지원할 수 있다.
장르와 소재 제한이 없는 창작웹툰과 지정웹툰 부문으로 진행되며 지정웹툰은 ‘폐급 엑스트라 빌런의 생존법’, ‘아내가 돌아왔다’등 지정 웹소설 8편 중 희망 작품을 선정해 응모하면 된다.
작품 접수 후 전문가 심사, 작가 인터뷰를 통해 연재 계획, 창작공간 입주 등 협의를 마친 후 8월 중 최종 수상작이 발표될 예정이며 자세한 공고내용은 ‘2022 모든 웹툰 공모전’ 홈페이지에서 확인할 수 있다.
부천시는 지난 3월 31일 네이버웹툰, 레드아이스 스튜디오와 ‘웹툰산업 창작역량 강화를 위한 업무협약’을 체결하면서 웹툰산업 육성에 박차를 가하고 있다.
특히, 공모전을 통해 발굴된 우수 콘텐츠의 국내·외 진출은 물론 영상화·게임화 등의 사업영역 확장을 지원하는 등 슈퍼 IP(지적재산권)가 될 수 있도록 적극적으로 노력해 나갈 방침이다.
오시명 문화경제국장은 “콘텐츠산업 분야에서 우수한 IP가 곧 경쟁력인 시대이다”며 “웹툰 IP 확보를 위한 공모전을 시작으로 장르 확장, 산업 연계까지 이어지는 웹툰산업 성장생태계를 조성하여 콘텐츠 선도도시로 만들어 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
