(브레이크뉴스인천 문광수 기자) 부천시가 오는 7월 7일 오후 2시 ‘청년들의 마음을 마주하다, 다각도로 본 청년자살’이라는 주제로 제10회 자살예방 생명사랑 심포지엄을 유튜브를 통한 온라인 생중계 방식으로 개최한다.
올해 10회를 맞이하는 자살예방 생명사랑 심포지엄은 2013년부터 지역사회 유관기관 실무자와 시민들의 자살예방에 대한 관심을 고취하고, 역량을 강화하기 위해 매년 개최하고 있다.
2022년 보건복지부에서 발표한 ‘코로나19 국민 정신건강 실태조사’에 따르면 코로나19 발생 초기에 비해 국민들의 자살생각 비율이 40% 증가했으며, 5명 중 1명이 우울 위험군으로 조사되어 국민들의 정신건강에 적신호가 들어오고 있음을 알 수 있다.
통계청에서 제공한 ‘2020년 사망원인통계’에서 연령별로 살펴보면, 사망원인 중 ‘자해(자살)’ 사망비율이 가장 높은 연령층은 20~29세 청년층으로, 2020년 청년층 사망자 중 54.4%가 ‘자해(자살)’로 사망했다.
같은 통계에서 청년층 사망자 중 ‘자해(자살)’ 사망비율이 2018년 47.2%, 2019년 51%이었던 것과 비교해보면 청년 자살문제를 예방하기 위한 논의가 시급한 실정이다.

각 주제 발표는 청년 여성 자살, 그녀들의 목소리를 듣다(서울대학교 인류학과 이현정 교수), 통계로 본 청년의 삶과 정책적 대응(한국보건복지인재원 이기연 교수), 그리고 청년세대의 자살(순천향대학교 부천병원 윤현철 교수) 순서로 진행된다.
주제 발표에 앞서 ‘2022년 자살예방 생명사랑 수기·표어 공모전’ 시상식이 진행된다.
총 14작품이 수상작으로 선정돼 영상을 통해 수상소감을 나누고 축하하는 시간을 가질 예정이다.
부천시보건소 김은옥 건강도시과장은 “이번 심포지엄을 통해 청년들의 자살 문제를 다각도로 살펴보고, 청년들을 더 깊게 이해해 문제 해결방안에 대해 고민해보는 계기가 되기를 바란다”고 전했다.
이번 심포지엄은 누구든지 참여할 수 있으며 유튜브 ‘부천시자살예방센터’ 채널을 통해 시청할 수 있다.
