브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 현대백화점은 다음달 4일까지 목동점 7층 글라스하우스에서 아시아 최초로 ‘탄자니아의 이보전’을 진행한다고 26일 밝혔다.
이번 전시는 아티스트이자 스위스 프리미엄 코스메틱 브랜드인 발몽 그룹을 이끌고 있는 디디에 기욤에 의해 탄생한 고릴라 이보가 자유를 만끽할 수 있는 자연으로 돌아갈 수 있기를 바라는 마음을 담은 전시다. 고릴라 이보는 다채로운 색상의 실크 스크린을 비롯헤 재활용 골판지 조각 등으로 전시됐다.
특히, 이번 전시에서는 디디에의 막내딸 발렌타인과 디디에가 자연의 세계에서 사는 이보를 만나기 위해 우간다로 향하는 여정을 영상으로 제작해 선보인다. 희망의 메시지를 담은 영상은 탄자니아의 이보 아트 기획전의 몰입감을 한층 높여 줄 예정이다.
전시와 함께 자선 활동도 선보인다. 이보를 주제로 한 포스터·머그컵·퍼즐 등 굿즈를 선보이며, 굿즈 판매 수익금의 일부는 초록우산 어린이 재단에 기부된다. 아이들이 다채로운 색깔로 이보를 직접 그려볼 수 있는 공간도 별도로 마련돼 있다.
현대백화점 관계자는 “고객들에게 기존과 다른 새로운 경험을 제공하고자 아시아 최초로 이번 전시를 준비했다”며 “앞으로도 다양한 이벤트와 프로모션을 지속적으로 선보일 계획이다”고 말했다.
