[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 김해시는 15일 국회를 방문해 김도읍 법사위원장을 만나 창원지방법원 김해지원 설치해 줄 것을 건의했다고 밝혔다.
법원행정처 발간 2021년 기준 사법연감에 따르면 김해시 사건 수는 29만5,933건으로 창원지법 본원 전체 사건 수인 66만2,043건의 44.7%를 차지하고 있음에도 불구하고 창원시로 가야만 하는 시민들의 불편함 가중됨에 따라 김해지원 설치 요구가 빗발치고 있다고 주장했다.
이어 도내 5곳의 지원 사건보다 건수가 월등히 많음에도 불구하고 수도권을 제외한 인구 50만명 이상 대도시 6곳 중 유일하게 지방법원 및 지원의 부재로 시민들이 많은 불편을 겪고 있다고 덧붙였다.
조재훈 김해시 기획조정실장 등은 면담에서 “도시 규모와 인구의 지속적인 확대로 사법 수요가 증가하고 있고 효율적인 소송 대응을 위해서라도 창원지방법원 김해지원이 조속히 설치되어야 한다”며 “현재 법사위에 계류 중인 관련법이 통과될 수 있도록 적극적인 지원과 관심을 바란다”고 밝혔다.
